What did you learn this week about UX design? Discuss in detail the common deliverables of the UX process, including research (e.g., user personas and user flow), and explain how they can help create an effective design that addresses the user’s needs.
First, I learned the relation between UX and UI. UX is focused on the user’s journey to solve a problem. UI design covers all the visual and interactive elements of a product interface. I then learned to recognize UX as a process of distinct steps. I learned about the research aspect. Research teaches us about the users, their behavior, goals, motivations, and needs. The design is never complete; there’s always room for improvement and upgrades. Next, I learned about the UX general tasks, 5 core components, the process, and deliverables. I learned about 9 common deliverables, but there are many more. I also learned that deliverables are used to communicate design ideas, research findings, and the context of projects to various audiences.
I gained an understanding of the design process. Designers try to make the user’s experience of interacting with products, services, and technology enjoyable and easy. The UX designer designs based on a user’s feelings and interactions with a product. I understand about the design thinking process and its four stages. The design process should be user- and accessible-friendly.
I acquired knowledge of the importance of testing the product. UX designers test because it allows them to improve upon the original product or site design. It’s a great way to eliminate problems or user difficulties that were unforeseen in the design phase before getting started on the implementation phase. Testing can give you the deepest understanding of problems, which creates valuable solutions. I gained the knowledge that testing doesn’t have to be a complicated process, but testing is necessary.
How can the UX process enhance a design project?
The process enhances a design project because the UX design process focuses on understanding the needs of users. The process of conducting interviews gives the designer a deeper understanding of the user which can clearly define the problem to allow the creation of a usable prototype and for more testing to be conducted. This also leads to reduced development costs. Using all of the process steps gives the UX designer tools to make a user-friendly and satisfying product.
Assess whether implementing the UX process could enhance the work you’ve done for your client’s blog, and elaborate on this in full sentences.
Implementing the UX process would require me to conduct more research to create a persona or outline of the user’s preferences. Then restructure my approved wireframe with that information. Next, I made a prototype and observed the client’s reaction and interaction with the prototype and asked for feedback. Used the feedback information to make the necessary adjustments before submitting. Integrating the UX process would have ensured that my final product was user-centered and accessibility-friendly, creating a positive experience for viewers.
